Who would have known that Whiteabbey had such an interesting history?!! Declan Boyle, of course!!! My wife and, together with our 3 friends, were given a most interesting and enjoyable tour of Whiteabbey by Declan. Up to now Whiteabbey was just one of those places we had driven through, but when you spend 2 1/2 hours walking around Whiteabbey, being guided by Declan and being informed so much about its interesting past, including who has lived there and what has happened there over the years, it is a most enjoyable and interesting afternoon - to be highly recommended!! it is also to be noted that all of the Ticket proceeds are given by Declan to a very worthy cause: The Alzheimers Society.

Myself and my partner booked this walking tour on our week off as a way of learning about the local area. The tour is a fantastic way to connect with the Lower Ormeau Road area and to gain a strong understating of the who, what and where of the Gas Works. I would highly recommended this quirky tour as this is an area of Belfast we had always walked through, but, knew so little about! Additionally, we are going to pair this tour with the upper Ormeau Road tour, to really learn about the whole area. Sometimes, it's lovely to act like a tourist on your own doorstep :)

We spent a couple of hours circling Whiteabbey on a nice sunny day where we learnt a lot about the local area and also Northern Irish history. An enjoyable time was had by all and thought Declan was a natural guide and very informative. The tour was also well organised.
